Commerce Guidelines


* Supervise the establishment and maintenance of all businesses operating on behalf and for the welfare of the Organisation.

* Establishes import and export business and different retail businesses to give financial stability to ÁMPS.

* Controls and supervises all commercial shops which do not come under ÁMUS.

* Supervises all ÁMUS Shops.

* Establish Ánanda Márga Universal Stores, ÁMUS.

* Make available as many as goods as possible to everyone.

* Select and train qualified personnel to manage the businesses.

* A legal board of directors may have to be set up; nevertheless the ultimate authority will rest in the hands of the Commerce Secretary.

There are two sections within Commerce Department


1 Industrial 2 Non-Industrial

 

Workers of Commerce Department:

For this purpose the Commerce Secretary Central shall have his cadre of workers from top to bottom line from Sector to Village level. There should be one Assistant Commerce Secretary Central (AComSC), whom will work under the direct supervision of Central Commerce Secretary. Workers up to the Regional level shall be Avadhúta; if an Avadhúta is not readily available the work may be temporarily managed by WT or LFT (using the word acting, with their designation).

Workers below regional level shall be WT; if WT is not readily available the work may be temporarily managed by the LFT or LPT using the word “acting” with their designation.

 

Commerce Department Workers’ Qualifications

They are workers of ÁMPS. They must have a fair knowledge on all kind of Cooperatives system; Producing, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Selling, Consuming, etc. and the system of keeping books and accounts. They should also have business, enterprises and managerial basic skills. 1) They must be strong in 16 Points

 

Commerce Global Basic Training Centre – COM-GBTC

There should be a COM-GBTC somewhere in Katmandu, Dacca, and Colombo Region, where trainees will acquire fair knowledge on all kind of Cooperatives system such as: Producing, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Selling, Consuming, etc. and the system of keeping books and accounts. They will also learn business management, enterprises, and managerial skills.

Commerce LFT Training Center

COM-LFT Training Center. The students will learn the entire knowledge imparted during the General LFT Training. They will follow the manual Vidyaságar ‘Ocean of knowledge’ which will be covered in all parts.

The students will learn also individual skills, basic principles of cooperative systems, business enterprises and managerial skills. Commerce department is in many ways the platform to produce strong vaeshya. They will be the financial strong hold for the organisation; thus we shall pay special attention to the creation of Commerce cadres. This knowledge shall be imparted from the beginning in our Commerce LFT Training.

 

Movements The Food-for-All Movement of the Commerce Department means availability of cheap rate goods to be purchased by ÁMPS and sold to the public at cheap rate.

 

Magazines

Central and the Sectors should publish two magazines every six months. The consolidated commerce activities shall be published and distributed to all the ÁMPS Units. Commerce Department Publications below Sectorial level are optional at present. In future when the Regions develop should also publish Regional Commerce Magazine.

ÁMUS Guidelines

* Imbibe the noble intention to or serve the general public with essential commodities at a reasonable rate. ÁMUS shall purchase commodities directly from the producers at wholesale rates and sell the same to the public at a reasonable rate, avoiding the so called “middle man”. As the spirit is that of a consumer cooperative system, the commerce department should work in closest cooperation with our Social Security Department, although the financial responsibility and management shall be of the Commerce Department. * ÁMUS will run on a non-profit, no-loss basis providing maximum service to the public. * The Commerce Department of ÁMPS shall start ÁMUS wherever there is an Ánanda Márga Unit. ↔ The Commerce Department will coordinate with FARPRO and INPRO concerning the business and marketing aspects of farm and industry products. ↔ The spirit of ÁMUS is based on cooperative system, thus the Commerce Department should work in close cooperation with the SSD - Social Security Department while maintaining the independent financial managerial responsibilities.

Assistant ÁMUS Secretary Central

There should be one Assistant Commerce Secretary Central (ACSC), whom will work under direct supervision of Central ÁMUS Secretary. (Central Commerce Secretary holds this posting ex-officio.)

 

ÁMUS Workers Qualifications

They are workers of ÁMPS. They must have a fair knowledge on all kind of Cooperatives system; Producing, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Selling, Consuming, etc. and the system of keeping books and accounts. They should also have business, enterprises and managerial basic skills. * They must be strong in 16 Points * They must have a fair knowledge in purchasing and selling and cooperative system. * They must have a basic knowledge of finance and maintenance of book accounting.

ÁMUS Structural Side

As per rules of ÁMPS

 

ÁMUS Global Basic Training Centre – ÁMUS-GBTC

There should be an ÁMUS-GBTC somewhere in Katmandu, Dacca, and Colombo Region, where trainees are to acquire special knowledge in Viprocita sevá and Vaeshyocita sevá and consumers cooperative System. It should be attached to COM-GBTC.

 

ÁMUS LFT Training Center

It should be attached to ÁMUS-GBTC Training Center. The entire financial responsibility and all the expenditure for the ÁMUS LFT Training Centre shall be taken over by the ÁMUS-GB Training Center.

 

 

Movements

The Food- for-All Movement of the Commerce Department means sell to the public at a reasonable rate all kind of food in our ÁMUS stores.

 

Magazines

Two magazines should be published at Central Level and Sectorial Level every year. Publications below the Sectorial Level are optional.

 

Commerce Sectorial Ácárya Jurisdiction and Logistic Operation

Commerce Department has the following duties:???

1. To commercialise of Publications Department 2. To commercialise of the presses 3. To commercialise of papers of different departments 4. To help with the financial management of newspapers and magazines of different Ánanda Márga organisations in accordance with the following system;

 

In order to help different philanthropic organisations in managing their newspapers and magazines in a proper and economic manner, posts of General Manager (GM) and Deputy General Manager (DGM) are to be overall heads of the concerned newspapers and magazines.

The GMs are to supervise the work of all workers attached to the concerned paper or papers and control the funds, accounts and finance of those papers with the help of their different assistants, managers and secretaries, as the case may be. But they are not to spend any amount without the prior occurrence of the financial authorities of the philanthropic organisation owning the concerned paper or papers, except in very special cases.

The GMs, DGMs, and Ms, although workers of Commerce Department and supervised by Commerce Dept, shall have a moral obligation to the owning organisation of the paper, because the profit and loss of the concerned newspaper shall go to the accounts of the owning organisation.

The GMs, DGM and Ms shall be under the supervision of the RS of the concerned region. The RS can enforce his supervision on the GMs, DGM and Ms either directly or through the Regional commerce secretary (where there is such a post) or through DEI or Dit.EI or through any other supervisory worker not below the rank of Dit.EI.

So far as Commerce Department is concerned, the GM shall be the immediate supervisor of DGM and DGM shall be the immediate supervisor of M. Expenditures incurred in connection with GM, DGM and M are to be borne by the organisation owning the paper.

 

Monthly Reports to Submit

Five Common


1) Initiation Mention the Name and Surname, address, tel. number, e-mail address, date of birth and the date of initiation, and specify if it is Nama Mantra or First Lesson.

2) Follow up Review of lesson. Specify which lesson was reviewed and or which lesson was given.

3) DDC Door to Door Contacts/br>
4) WT/LFT Creation Whole Timer & Local Full Timer sent to Training Center since last report.

5) Fund Collection Either regular or special donation received; excluding income from commercial activities such as selling books, CDs, yoga classes and renting rooms, etc..
